Glossary

UserTold turns real user interviews into source-linked Evidence and Findings that product teams can triage.

The loop

Study → Interview → Evidence → Finding → Product triage → Delivery → Resolution → Recurrence.

You interview real users inside your product. UserTold preserves source-linked moments as Evidence cards and groups related Evidence into draft Findings for review. The receiving product team decides during product triage whether a reviewed Finding becomes delivery work. Later Evidence can prompt a recurrence review after resolution; resemblance is not proof. Home is the briefing across the whole loop; Studies (and their Intake) set it up.

Terms

Interview

A conversation with a real user, captured inside your product — screen, voice, transcript, and context. The raw material of research. (Browse them under Interviews.)

Evidence — an Evidence card

A source-linked moment showing what a participant said or did. Each card carries its type (struggling moment, desired outcome, …), confidence, source material, and a link back to its interview. (Browse it under Evidence.)

Finding

A summary of a user problem or pattern, supported by one or more Evidence cards. Review its sources before deciding whether to investigate further or send it to delivery. (Browse them under Findings.)

Reviewed Finding

A Finding whose supporting Evidence and synthesis were reviewed. Review does not itself create external work.

Product triage

The receiving team's decision about whether a reviewed Finding becomes delivery work.

Delivery issue

External work accepted or tracked for execution.

Recurrence

Later Evidence that may resemble Evidence behind an earlier Finding. Recurrence is a prompt for review, not proof that the same pattern returned.

Study

The research you're running: its goals, interview flow, and who can participate. A study produces interviews; interviews produce evidence.

Intake

The qualification step that decides who gets interviewed. Intake lives inside its study.

Home

The project briefing: which studies are collecting, what Evidence awaits review, and which Findings or delivery issues need attention. (It opens on "Today in your project".)
